sqrrl in NYC for Hadoop World

sqrrl made a big presence at Strata Conference + Hadoop World this week. We had a lot of enthusiasm from across the spectrum of Big Data users, and heard consistently about the need for fine grained access controls, and greater flexibility for application development, both of which acorn is solving.

On Tuesday sqrrl CEO, Oren Falkowitz talked on “The Cube" about where the company is headed. In the evening sqrrl and Hortonworks hosted nearly 100 for an Apache Accumulo meetup. The audience was a mix of existing Accumulo adopters and new users. John Vines (sqrrl), Jason Trost (Endgames Systems), and Billie Rinaldi (Hortonworks) provided talks that focused on getting started with Accumulo, developing web-scale applications on top of Accumulo, and technical performance advantages of Accumulo. Each talk showcased the strength of the Accumulo core as well as the exploding adoption in the commercial market.
