Sqrrl Brand and Identity Transformation

This week we are excited to have unveiled a new Sqrrl brand and identity. Our new brand and identity were redesigned in an effort to have them more accurately reflect the key strengths of our product… the most secure, scalable, and flexible NoSQL database.

Some of the major changes in our brand and messaging include the following:

  • Replaced our squirrel logo with an acorn logo; the acorn image is in the form of a four point shield, reinforcing the importance of security in our brand
  • Replaced the pastel color palette with a new color palette focused on gray, black, and orange; this new color palette better represents the power and security of the Sqrrl Enterprise platform
  • Clarified in our top-level messaging that we are a NoSQL database

One of the questions that we often get asked is how did we pick the name “Sqrrl.” There are a lot of things that go into a name, including trademark availability, URL availability, memorability, and alignment with the technology. We liked Sqrrl for a number of reasons, but probably the easiest to single out is that the concept of a squirrel gathering, storing, and retrieving nuts aligns nicely with what a database does with data.

We hope that you enjoy the new website and branding.
